14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Luke 17:11-19
In this passage, we read that there were ten
men who had Leprosy. Leprosy is a contagious skin disease that was considered a
curse.
These lepers were desperate and wanted help.
Luke 17:13 ESV
[13] and lifted up their voices, saying,
“Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”
These men had faith enough to call out to Jesus
for help. This is the first step with Salvation. We need to call out to Jesus
to be saved because we cannot save ourselves. When we realize how sinful we
are, we can call out to God. When we know that we cannot live without Jesus, we
will call out to him. We are not perfect and need help.
Jesus hears their cries, sees them and heals
them.
Luke 17:14 ESV
[14] When he saw them he said to them, “Go
and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.
This is the second step. Jesus saved them. He
did not judge them or compare them to each other. Jesus just healed them.
Jesus hears our prayers and answers them. We
might not receive the answer we want, but Jesus gives the answers we need.
The 10 lepers go to the priest to be checked
for leprosy. If they had Leprosy, they could be killed. Still, they went and
then before they arrived, they were healed. However, one leper goes back to
Jesus. What made him different?
This leper wanted to be with Jesus. He has
true faith. He wanted to be healed, but he also wanted to have a good
relationship with God. Only this man tried to continue to have a relationship
with Jesus.
Genuine faith will return us to Jesus worship
Him.
We need Jesus.
Jesus’ gift of salvation is for all.
Having true faith will lead us to have a
relationship with God
