Theme for the Month of April: WHAT IS IT?

Message: “The Stone Cut From The Mountain Without Hand”

Grounding Scripture(s): Daniel 2:37-45

Introduction

God determines the time. God determines the kingdoms of men. He also determines who rules and for how long. He has everything under His control. He has determined the doom of the kingdoms of the sons of men and the world:  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:17)

  1. It is God that gives the kingdom to whomever He wills. vv 37-8

i.                 Power of rulership

ii.               Might to rule

iii.             Glory of a kingdom

iv.             Scope of the kingdom

v.               Majesty and Supremacy of kings

  1. God makes use of inferiors as much as He makes of the superior things. He is the LORD of all.

i.                 God determines when who or what is to come after who or after what. vv 39-40

a.      Over the superior (Gold) an inferior yet stronger (Silver) shall rule.

b.     Over the inferior (Silver) a more inferior and yet more stronger (Bronze) shall rule

c.      Then a third inferior in rank (Iron) rule over all until the Kingdom of God comes.

i.                 This final inferior kingdom or rule shall constitute at the base of itself a much more inferior(Iron and Clay) of eminence and glory

  1. The Stone Cut From The Mountain Without Hand: this speaks of the Eternal being of Christ Jesus as our LORD and God and the triumphant establishment of His eternal Kingdom among men. vv 41-45; Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 8:14, Isaiah 28:16, and Zechariah 3:9
  2. The dream is curtained and its interpretation is also certain. v 45. Rev. 11 15 “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms[b] of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
