The Dispensation of the Grace of God (Ephesians 3:1-7)

Message: Eph. 3:1-7

1For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, 7of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

Pastor Enoch Hanokh

  1. The dispensation of the grace of God-vv.1-3

1For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,

  • A reason worth suffering for others;

Eph. 2:19 19Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

Ø  Eph. 3:14 14For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Ø  Eph. 3:13 13pTherefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Ø  Eph. 3:1 1For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles—

  1. Now revealed by the Holy Spirit-vv. 4-5

4by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

  • Knowledge in the mystery of Christ;

Jer. 32:38-41 38‘ They shall be My people, and I will be their God; 39‘ then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. 40‘ And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. 41‘ Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will 6assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’

Ø  Col. 1:26-29 26the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: 9which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

  1. That Gentiles should be fellow heirs-vv.6-7

6that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, 7of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

  • Fellow heirs
  • A minister according to the gift of the grace of God
  • The effective working of the power of God.

Col. 2:29 29To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
