Luke 12:35-48
Stayed Prepared

Do you believe that Jesus will come back again? If yes, what are you doing to prepare for the second coming? Pastor Donald uses Luke 12:35-48 which tells us that we ought to be prepared and stayed prepared.

Jesus uses a parable of the master who has gone to a wedding and left his servant to wait for him. The servant needs to keep a watch and keep on doing what has been entrusted to him. Like the servant, we need to be active while we wait for our master if we want to please Jesus.  Otherwise, we face punishment  worse than those who do not believe.

In Luke 12:35-45 Jesus describes several types of people who will be ready for His return.
  1. 1. Those who diligently wait for Jesus vs 43-44. They will be rewarded. They are faithful and overcome many obstacles.
  2. 2. Those  those who give up on waiting and watching. These people will be put in the group of the unbelievers (vs 45-46).
  3. 3. Those who have known the will of the Father but did not prepare will be beaten severely. They did not do what they were supposed to.
  4. 4. Those who did not know the will of the Father will be beaten lightly.

  5. To keep a constant spiritual walk with the Lord. We need to fill our lamps with oil. We need to keep on checking our spiritual lives. We need to repent and turn away from our vices. If the spirit tell us to do this, we need to obey. Who ever has been entrusted much, much more will be required.
