What Kind Of Life Has Christ Called Us To?(Matthew 5:1-12)

Speaker: Pastor Enoch Hanokh                                                                             Sunday February 7, 2016

Message: What Kind Of Life Has Christ Called Us To?

Grounding Scripture(s): Matthew 5: 1-12

Introduction

Your acceptance of the will of God concerning your lives is to embrace the life of blessedness through Christ Jesus. This life shall fully be manifested when He that is perfect appears. “For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away” (1 Corinthians 13:9-10). For this reason we need to understand this life in the two contexts revealed to us in the above scripture. Thus, even though we have this life, we experience it partially and also fully by faith (look for to it in its fullness). “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:1-3

Jesus, on the sermon on the mountain opens our eyes to this life. These are the expectations of those who will be in the Kingdom He is calling you and me into. Let us take a look at them.

1."Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

3. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

4. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

6. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.

7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.

8. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

9. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account."
