Mercy
Mercy
CCLI Song # 7000689
Jonas Myrin | Matt Redman
Verse 1
I will kneel in the dust
at the foot of the cross
Where mercy paid for me
Where the wrath I deserve
it is gone it has passed
Your blood has hidden me
Chorus 1
Mercy mercy as endless as the sea
I'll sing Your hallelujah
for all eternity
Verse 2
We will lift up the cup
and the bread we will break
Remembering Your love
We were fallen from grace
but You took all our shame
And nailed it to a cross
Chorus 1
Mercy mercy as endless as the sea
I'll sing Your hallelujah
for all eternity
(2X)
Chorus 2
May I never lose the wonder
O the wonder of Your mercy
May I sing Your hallelujah hallelujah
Amen

O the wonder of Your mercy
May I sing Your hallelujah hallelujah
Amen

내가
어찌 잊으리요

Sep 22, 2024 "Revival" (Nehemiah 9:1-8)
Revival
Nehemiah 9:1-8
In the book of Nehemiah, the titular character
come back to rebuild the wall and, with God's help, he and the Israelites living
there rebuild the wall in 52 days.
In chapter 8, the people listen to the word of
God and celebrate the festival of booths. In chapter 9, we read that the people
after hearing the word and experiencing God's grace, the people confess their sins
and repent.
Nehemiah 9:1-2 ESV
[1] Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month
the people of Israel were assembled with fasting and in sackcloth, and with earth
on their heads. [2] And the Israelites separated themselves from all foreigners
and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.
We also read that the Israelites separate themselves
from the foreigners. This separation required action and had consequences on their
lives.
Nehemiah 9:3 ESV
[3] And they stood up in their place and read
from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day; for another
quarter of it they made confession and worshiped the Lord their God.
True repentance involves action as we see in verses
1 and 2. Another aspect of true repentance
also involves is immersing yourself in God. This involves reading and hearing God's
word as well as praising Him. We live a life or worship.
Romans 12:1-2 ESV
[1] I appeal
to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living
sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. [2] Do not
be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that
by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable
and perfect.
We also need to make a conscious choice to live
a life of living sacrifice
True revival also leads to a life of gratitude.
We do not just give thanks for success for or answered prayers but an understanding
of who God is and what God has done for us. God alone is sufficient regardless of
our circumstances.
Nehemiah 9:6-7 ESV
[6] “You
are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their
host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you
preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you. [7] You are the Lord,
the God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him
the name Abraham.

Sep 15, 2024 "The Wall" (Nehemiah 6:15-7:4)
The
Wall
Nehemiah 6:15-7:4
In real life, we continually face problems and
obstacles even after large victories. Life is not a fairy tale and neither is the
Bible.
The walls were built in 52 days despite, opposition,
ridicule and even death threats. This was a testament that it was God who had done
this, and all the nations knew this.
Nehemiah 6:16 ESV
[16] And when all our enemies heard of it, all
the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they
perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.
Nehemiah built the wall to protect the temple.
The wall is not just a physical wall, but a spiritual wall as well.
Nehemiah 7:1 ESV
[1] Now when the wall had been built and I had
set up the doors, and the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,
Nehemiah sets gates and gate keepers. The leader
of the gate keepers has to have special qualities. Nehemiah wanted someone who feared
God. These men were full of integrity and took sin seriously.
Nehemiah 7:2 ESV
[2] I gave my brother Hanani and Hananiah the
governor of the castle charge over Jerusalem, for he was a more faithful and God-fearing
man than many.
Guarding our faith is not something we can do
alone. We need to be in a community and support one another. We pray together to keep faith. Difficult times
will come, and a church can help one another to overcome difficult times. We all
must be involved.
Nehemiah 7:3 ESV
[3] And I said to them, “Let not the gates of
Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot. And while they are still standing guard,
let them shut and bar the doors. Appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
some at their guard posts and some in front of their own homes.”
The people building the wall put that before their
own homes. Instead of building their homes, they wanted to protect the temple first.
Their priority was God and this is why they could build the wall first.
Nehemiah 7:4 ESV
[4] The city was wide and large, but the people
within it were few, and no houses had been rebuilt.
Just like Nehemiah and the people who rebuilt
the wall, we will face problems. We need to set our priorities right and fear God.
Loyalty is not enough. We need to revere God.
