Jul 27, 2025 “Not My Words, But His”(Ezekiel 3:16-27)

Not My Words, but His

God gives a very serious word to speak to the Israelites. Ezekiel is told to speak both the wicked and the righteous.
This is similar in the New Testament when Jesus has commanded us to spread the gospel to everyone.

Matthew 5:14-16 ESV
[14]  “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. [15] Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. [16] In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
[19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Before we can speak to God, we have to listen. We do need to speak to others about God.

Ezekiel 3:17 ESV
[17] “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.

There are many heresies these days. This is not the gospel. These heresies take God's word and twisting it to what they want to hear. We need to hear and know the character of God and follow His word.

Reading the Bible is important and beneficial. However, we have the Holy Spirit to help us understand. The Bible was translated, revised, interpreted and redacted. The people who understand God's word the best are those who are closest to God.

If you want to understand the Bible more, check your relationship with God. Pray and draw closer to God.

John 3:16 ESV
[16]  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

God blesses us so we can bless others. It is not just to get blessings, but it is to bless others like God has blessed us.

We need to share the gospel with others. These are people, not objects or numbers. The Gospel is God's love and this what needs to be convened to others.

Genesis 12:2-3 ESV
[2] And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. [3] I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Ezekiel 3:26-27 ESV
[26] And I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that you shall be mute and unable to reprove them, for they are a rebellious house. [27] But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who will hear, let him hear; and he who will refuse to hear, let him refuse, for they are a rebellious house.

We need to treat people in a personal way. We need to love those who do not know God. We need to follow our calling and speak God's word with love to others. We need to be real with God and others. Are we taking up the responsibility to be watchmen for God and warn people of the dangers coming and to turn back to God?

Jul 20, 2025 "How Christians Can Overcome Capitalism?" (1 Timothy 6:5-10)

1 Timothy 6:5-10 New International Version
5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

July 13, 2025 "To Live Like Paul" (1 Timothy 1:12-20)

1 Timothy 1:12-20

In this passage,1 Timothy 1:11-20, we read how Paul was changed from the worst person to something great with purpose through the power of Christ. We see that God changes many people in the Bible and takes the undesirables to make them into heroes of the Bible.

Paul knows where he comes from. He remembers where Jesus came to him and what he was like before that encounter.

1 Timothy 1:13 ESV
[13] though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

Many times, we forget how much God has rescued us. We often forget how much mercy God has shown us. We forget our struggles as we move closer to God. We become familiar with our life in Christ and forget how lost and empty we were.

But when we truly experience the grace of God, we cannot help but respond to God's calling.

We shouldn’t feel guilty because of our past sins, but we should remember and be thankful to God’s mercy.

1 Timothy 1:12 ESV
[12] I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,

Paul is humbled and empowered by what God has done. Paul is able to live out his calling from God.

How do we respond to that calling? Everyone's calling is unique.

1 Timothy 1:18-19 ESV
[18] This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, [19] holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,

We’re called to fight the good fight, keep our hearts clean and keep our faith. Paul tells Timonthy to keep going. To keep fighting.

This fight is not about getting what you want, but about standing on the side of good. We need faith and a good conscience. We need a faith that is rooted in something real. We need to have faith in God.
We can choose what is right because God has won.

Do you still remember what God has done for you and what Jesus rescued from? Do you know this in your heart? Are you living out your calling?

Jesus is with you and will help you. If you are weary, return to your faith. If worship has become routine, then ask God to help you remember what you were rescued from.

July 6, 2025 "Teach Me Your Way, Lord" (Psalm 86:1-11)

Teach Me Your Way, Lord
Psalm 86:1-11

After we come to Jesus, we continue to endure suffering and struggles. Like the writer of Psalm 86, we need to call out to the Lord when we are in trouble.

The first step in prayer is acknowledging whom we are praying to. We need to confess who we are and who God is.

Psalm 86:8-10 ESV
[8] There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. [9]  All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. [10] For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.

In the past, people worshipped many gods, but the psalmist says God is unique and the greatest. The psalmist goes on to say that God has made all nations and can do great things.

The author says these things because he had a real relationship with God. His unshakable faith allows the psalmist to say,

Psalm 86:11 ESV
[11]  Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.

We often go to God in prayer with our own plans.. We suggest a plan to God because we think we know best. We need to trust God knows best and allow God to give the solution.

The first step is to confess God is all knowing and will give you best solution. We can tell God what we want, but we need to trust that God knows best. We need to obey God's will.

When we obey, there is no failure. The writer of this passage understood this deeply. He knew that we need true undivided hearts that are committed to God so we can completely trust in God.

Even if our obedience does not produce good fruit immediately or it looks like a failure. We will not see the big picture until Jesus returns. When we do see the big picture, we will see how God's plan was best.

When we surrender to God's way, true peace will grow.

Let's make a simple and honest prayer.
Lord, I don't want to do things my way, but I want to do things in your way.
