Prayer Retreat 2011

Daejeon Onnuri English Ministry
Prayer Retreat 2011
Jangsung Prayer Mountain

Theme: Living in God’s Favor: Touching Heaven and Reaching Nations.

Acknowledgement:
God sent his Son to die for my sin and today by faith in his name I have been born again.  My sins have been washed away and God remembers them no more.  I am a child of God; I have access to the throne of God’s Grace.  God has filled me with his Holy Spirit, the very glory and the presence of God and through the power of the Spirit; I live my life for God’s glory.

The life that I now live, I live by faith in Jesus.  It’s no longer I that lives but Christ lives in me.  When I am weak and tired, he calls me to his side and tends to my troubles like a shepherd to his sheep; when I am weak he makes me strong and covers me with his grace.  In him I am complete and made whole; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  It’s my ambition to live in faith and love; knowing that he hears my prayers and answers them all because of his goodness and mercy.  I trust in his promises that assure me of his good pleasure in prospering me and not harming.  He tells me that he has plans to prosper me and give me hope and a bright future.  In him I have everything and I am made more than a conqueror.  Surely goodness and mercy will follow me for the rest of my days.

It is my desire to see non-believers come to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus and have the kind of life I have in him.  I will do all I can to be God’s agent to take the gospel to the unbelievers.  I will share the gospel either directly by going or indirectly by praying and contributing to others who can go into the world to share the gospel.

With this conviction, let us come together as a church and ask God to show us his favor so that we could fulfill God’s plan for us in this city and around the world.  Let’s pray…

1.       Daejeon OEM:
a.       Spiritual Revival – that all of us be filled with faith and love and receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  That we would become mature and Spirit-filled Christians that are ready to overcome every spiritual challenge in personal life, family life and professional life.  That we would see the manifestations of the works of the Holy Spirit in healing, deliverances and miracles.  That the gifts of the Holy Spirit be in operation in our midst.
b.      Numerical growth – that we would be willing to share the gospel with English Speaking Koreans and foreigners.  That we would become a good size church with full ministerial assistance to our members.  That God would bring many hungry souls to our fellowship in creating a true International Church: let’s pray for 100 weekly attendances by the end of this year.
c.       Warm fellowship – let’s pray that God will guide us in creating a community where we develop real friendship and deep Christian fellowship rooted in love and mutual respect.  Let’s pray that we would be able to conduct small groups, Bible studies, and home cell meetings in various places in order to strengthen our faith and fellowship with one another.
2.      OEM Members:
a.       For spiritual and physical well-being.  That God would protect our members from the evil one and bad influences.  Some of us are away from family and at times feel lonely; that God may minister in that situation.  Some of us have family problems; that God would be gracious and strengthen our families.  Some of us are praying for marriage, others for jobs and various areas of life.  Those of us who have jobs, lets pray for God’s success to come over and favor in work places.  Those of us who are married and have children, may there be peace, love and joy in those families and may their children do well in life and education.
b.      Every member be filled with the Spirit and be motivated to believe God for great things and to love God and fellow human beings so that they would receive answers to their prayers.  That all of us be excited to share the gospel and worship the Lord.  That all of us would be able to overcome our limitation by God’s help.

3.      OEM leadership: that God would anoint us to do the work he has called us to do.  Our worship leading, singing, our serving, our preaching and sharing would bring glory to God and blessings to our members.

4.      Foreigners in Daejeon: that we would be able to communicate the gospel to them and that God would save them.  That those who are believers would be drawn to our fellowship so that we could continue to minister to them and protect them from falling into sin and temptation when they are away from the home and family.  That we might be able to coordinate with other international churches in Daejeon and have fellowship with them.  Those of us who are foreigners in our fellowship would be protected by the Lord and given the strength to cope with life in a foreign land.

5.      English Speaking Koreans: that we would reach out to them and bring them into our fellowship, give them a glimpse of what it looks like to be global citizen, that they would be trained and motivated to live for God no matter where they go in their professional life.

6.      Mission and outreach: lets pray and plan to adopt a country or a particular ministry in any nation so that we can have greater impact by focusing in it.  As of now, mission work in Nepal can be a good place to begin because of the greater possibility we have to build stronger and meaningful relationship with the leadership there.  Let’s also pray for the outreach to the migrant workers in Korea; especially let’s pray for the work pastor Subedi is doing in Kimhae city.

7.      Persecuted church: pray for the brothers and sisters in nations where they are going through difficult times; North Korea, Islamic world, China, India and other nations.

8.      Korea, and Korean Church: that this nation would remain strong and prosperous with complete religious freedom.  The threat of war would be removed and peace would be lasting. That the church in Korea would not fall asleep and be revived.

9.      Onnuri Church: pray that this church would continue to be an inspiration for other churches.

10.  For us individually:  We all can share our needs and concerns and pray for one another.
