Message: You shall be a name of joy to me.

Grounding Scripture(s): Jeremiah 33:1-9, 11

  1. The name of the LORD is the guarantee for His Word-vv. 1-3.

a.      He has given you His Word-v. 1.

b.     He seals His Word with His name-v. 2.

c.      He invites you to call on His name-v. 3.

  1. He will rebuild our breached security and covering-vv. 4-8.

a.      Though we are torn down because of our ungodly ways, the LORD will bring us healing-vv. 4-7.

b.     The LORD restores us to what He has made us to be-v. 8.

c.      You shall be a name of joy to the LORD-v. 9, 11; Num. 6:27; Is. 43:6-8; Rev. 22:3-5.

Based on today’s message, let us consider the following questions in sharing with one another the understanding and insight we have received from the Word of God. We are also encouraged to share with others how we want to apply the meaning of today’s message in our personal Christian life.

  1. Why will your name bring joy to the LORD?
  2. In light of what God has done in our lives, should believers continue to live in self-pity and negative self-image? Discuss.
  3. How can we share this Good News with others?

Message: A Man Caught Between Two worlds

Grounding Scripture(s): 1 Kings 18:1-18

God places some people (Christians) in the frontline line where the battle is fiercest. And all that is required of to do is to encourage them and pray for them instead of condemning them. The Kingdom of God is against the king of darkness and of this world. 

1.     A man in a position of tough decisions, tough place, and a place where God will have him be. vv.5, 19. 

2.     A man who fears the LORD. vv. 3-4

3.     A man who honors the anointing. vv. 11-13
